Did You Know?

Our veterinarians and staff realize you want the best possible care for your pets.  Educated pet owners are better prepared to work with their veterinarians to provide optimal preventive care for their pets.  One area of concern for veterinarians and pet owners alike is sharing information on zoonotic parasites.  Zoonotic parasites are capable of infecting other animals and humans, and some of these pose significant health risk to pet owners, especially children, women who are pregnant, immunosuppressed, and elderly people.

Visit www.petsandparasites.org for additional information on parasites that can infect your pets and family members.

Certain parasites from dogs and cats can cause serious infections in humans.  We feel this information is important so you are better prepared to protect your pet, your family members and yourself.  We have adopted a strategic parasite prevention protocol for pets, to help minimize the risks, but there are also important tips on things you can do to help reduce your pet's and family's exposure to these parasites.

Please visit the link to the Companion Animal Parasite Council webpage for information on internal and external parasites and feel free to contact our office if you have any questions.
